Las Vegas feeling the hockey fever in huge from their recent open house they hosted T-Mobile Arena from earlier in the week. Hockey fans in the community continue to exceed the expectations with the organization.
Keith Veronesi who the teams Hockey Operations Assistant took notice of the pride by calling today’s event an honor and a privilege in teaching the kids how to skate, shoot and pass the puck.
With the continued civic pride and support the Vegas hockey community has demonstrated with the Golden Knights it’s becoming more and more clear that fans are eager to get this next chapter in their lives going.
On hand to witness the event was USA Hockey’s Director of Membership Kevin Erlenbach. As a seasoned official with the USA Hockey Program Erlenbach highlighted that at any given location that supports the initiative he indicated crowds to be less than 50 kids.
In Vegas that number was much higher, in fact according to the Golden Knights they mentioned the kids that attended were in the hundreds.
Erlenbach was impressed by the Vegas community that he took notice of the hunger they demonstrated and he could feel the intensity of a fan base that is just hockey ready and waiting to explode.
He also touched on the interaction between parent and child and that seeing their kid out there on the ice for the first time was something special.
Events and initiatives like an open house, “Hockey Is For Everyone”, “Try Hockey For A Day For Free”, to school programs, street rallies, and watch parties are the grass roots foundation in building that support within your community to become a winner with the fans.
