Today General Manager George McPhee and the Vegas Golden Knights organization announced their first ever signing as they inked free agent Reid Duke from the Western Hockey League Brandon Wheat Kings to a three year entry level contract.
Reid Duke was originally selected by the Minnesota Wild in the sixth round of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft at 169h overall is from Calgary, Alberta is 6’0” and wights in at 190 pounds.
According to the Vegas hockey club they confirmed that Reid will finish his current season with the Wheat Kings before taking part in the franchises Development Camp this is scheduled to kick off in the summertime.
In his current season with the Wheat Kings Reid has recorded 35 goals and tallied 32 assists with 67 points to his credit along with 69 PIM’s. He currently leads Brandon in goals and points. Duke is having a career year this season with the Wheat Kings with his 35 goals and 67 points.
For the second consecutive season Reid has registered 30 or more goals. Last season he tallied 33 goals along with 29 assists at 62 points.
In his five season’s playing in the WHL Reid suited up for the Wheat Kings and the Lethbridge Hurricanes where he 304 games recorded 112 goals, collected 135 assists for 247 points and pick up 317 penalty minutes.

The Golden Knights organization also confirmed that there will a joint press conference scheduled to take place this afternoon.
