As we approach the 2017 NHL Draft hosted by the Chicago Blackhawks a website out there as put together a lottery simulator that allows hockey fans from around the world to hypothetically determine the outcome of this years draft order. The purpose of this is to generate the buzz for the fans to get in the mode before the draft lottery event kicks off.

The purpose of the Draft Lottery is for the 14 clubs that miss out at participating in the Stanley Cup Playoffs the opportunity to win the coveted 1st overall pick in the NHL Entry Draft. In addition to the 14 teams the Vegas Golden Knights will also be in the mix.

With it’s inception in 1995 rules from the NHL put in order that the organization picked were only authorized to jump 4 spots up the line from their original draft position. This means that the clubs involved will have to be inside the top 5 pick position and must have the lowest in points in the bank from the previous campaign.

During the 2013-2014 NHL Lottery cycles the limit from jumping 4 spots was no longer in effect thus giving more teams the chance in winning the 1st overall pick.

As of now here are the list of teams that are currently involved in the NHL Lottery Draft Simulator.
