Today Elliotte Friedman is reporting via his Twitter account that newly signed KHL Free Agent Vadim Shipachyov’s original NHL contract he inked on Thursday has been rejected by the league.

As Friedman reports that George McPhee and Golden Knights are in the process of drafting up a new contract for Shipachyov to sign.

Per the conference call in with reporters yesterday George McPhee originally stated that Shipachyov’s contract did not contain a NTC trade clause.

The original deal was reported at $9 million for 2 years at an AAV at $4.5 million per season.

***Update: Per team source new contracted was re-submitted to the NHL league office and will be approved on Sunday.***
