Yesterday the Quad City Mallards ECHL hockey club may have slipped on their Official Twitter Account that they have an affiliate agreement in place with the NHL’s Vegas Golden Knights and AHL’s Chicago Wolves franchises for the 2017-18 hockey season.
Earlier this week the Golden Knights organization made it official with their AHL partner for the 2017-18 season with Chicago Wolves franchise who were affiliated with the St. Louis Blues during the current campaign.
Is there any truth to this potential agreement between the 3 hockey clubs?
According to Sinbin.net Staff Writer Anna Headley about why the Golden Knights should also partner up with the Quad City Mallards.
In her piece, she stated the affiliation arrangement between the NHL’s Minnesota Wild and the ECHL team has ended after the 2016-17 season.
She also made mention, that it would be beneficial for Vegas as the best possible fit for the Mallards heading into the next hockey season.
For the main reason that the Quad City Mallards like the Wolves organization are inside the state border of Illinois. This makes sense from a logistics standpoint when it comes to recalling players on an emergency basis which often happens in the sport.
The Vegas Golden Knights franchise has yet to make any public statement regarding this matter.
So please stay tuned as this story continues to develop.
