Erik Brännström 2017 U18 & SHL Highlights


During the course of last season with HV71 in the Swedish Hockey League, defenseman Brannstrom contributed with his club to capture Le Mat Trophy for the fifth time in franchise history.

He also produced 6 points in 35 games played (1 goal and 5 assists) for HV71. Brannstrom also played on the HV71 Junior squad where in 19 games he recorded 9 goals and 14 assists for 23 points.

For Brannstrom, he comes from a hockey family in Sweden as his father Nick played in the SHL for a total of 341 games and recorded 82 goals and 84 assists for 166 points. His brother Isaac also skates for HV71.

Brannstrom’s brother Isaac is a forward with the same club in the SHL where he posted last season 40 points (15 goals and 25 assists).

With Erik when he made his SHL career debut in the 2015-2016 season he played in just three games. He did, however, play the majority of the season with the junior squad that same year where he suited up for 41 games and produced 8 goals and 22 assists for 30 points in the span.
