Las Vegas–Today the Vegas Golden Knights hockey organization along with General Manager George McPhee announced that they have signed former 2nd round pick from the 2012 NHL Entry Draft of the Columbus Blue Jackets goalie Oscar Dansk to a 1-year deal.

Dansk is coming off of a 3-year deal with the Blue Jackets organization that was reported per our friends at CapFriendly.com worth $9.25 million (NHL rated salary). However, he played in the AHL for most of his term as a two-way contract player.

According to CapFriendly, his new 1-year deal is being reported at $650k which in the league minimum by the NHL.

Just like with T.J. Tynan and Ryan Craig, we have another connection with the franchise as Dansk played against Vegas Golden Knights 15th overall pick in defenseman Erik Brannstrom in the SweHL with the Rögle BK.

Notables on Dansk

Spent the 2014-15 season with AHL’s Springfield Falcons and the ECHL’s Kalamazoo Wings before he headed back to Rögle BK for the following 2 seasons.

In his prior year with Rögle BK, he posted a 3.00 GAA along with a .903 save percentage in 24 games between the pipes.

Brings with him some hardware as the 2nd place silver medalist with his 2014 WJC IIHF Worlds team with Sweden.

According to the team’s depth chart at the goalie position, he is slotted at #3 behind Marc-André Fleury and Calvin Pickard.
