Las Vegas–Today with training slowly approaching, Vegas Golden Knights General Manager made the announcement that the organization has come to terms with forward Branden Leipsic and defenseman Griffin Reinhart to separate 2-year contracts.

Both Leipsic and Reinhart’s deal will take into effect for the start of the 2017-18 season. Their deals have an AAV of $650,000 and $850,000 respectively that goes thru the 2018-19 campaign.

At the Vegas Draft McPhee picked off both Leipsic (Toronto Maple Leafs) and Reinhart (Edmonton Oilers).

For Leipsic, he has spent more with the Maple Leafs AHL affiliate the Marlies. There he skated in 188 games with them where he recorded 52 goals, added 107 assists for 159 points.

In the 2015-16 season with the Marlies, Leipsic had an AHL career year with his 20 goals and 34 assists.

He was originally selected by the Nashville Predators at 89th overall in the 3rd round the of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.

Leipsic registered his first ever NHL career goal when the Leafs faced off against the Vancouver Canucks on February 13, 2016.

Trade History:

Traded to the Maple Leafs on February 15, 2015, along with Olli Jokinen and a first-round pick in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft in exchange for Cody Franson and Mike Santorelli

With Reinhart, he too spent most of his time in the AHL with the Bakersfield Condors and the Bridgeport Soundtigers organizations.

In 143 games in the AHL, he scored 16 goals, 37 assists for 53 points. His career highs were in the 2014-15 and 2016-17 seasons with the where produced 7 goals for Bridgeport and Bakersfield respectively.

Reinhart was selected in the same draft year as Leipsic in 2012 by the New York Islanders franchise in the 1st round at 4th overall.

With Reinhart, he made his NHL debut as a member of the New York Islanders organization when his team took on the Carolina Hurricanes in the 2014-2015 season on October 10.

Traded to the Edmonton Oilers by the Islanders on June 26, 2015, in exchange for a first and a second-round draft pick in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft
