Las Vegas–The Vegas Golden Knights took to the ice for the 1st time in franchise history in preseason action against the Vancouver Canucks with a large crowd at “City National Arena” MacKenzie’s River Pizza watched on.

For Vegas in the early going they were into some penalty when Keegan Kolesar and Stefan Mattaeu were the 1 two Golden Knights players get sent to box for a holding and cross-checking minor.

The good news for the Golden Knights their penalty killers was able to keep Vancouver from scoring a that fairly long 5 on 3.

After Wong opened the scoring, Vegas and Vancouver traded goals in a span of five minutes.

It was Canucks Brock Boeser who started it off scored his 2nd in preseason action, Golden Knights Tomas Hyka registered his 1st, Jordan Subban younger brother of P.K. Subban tallied his 1st, Vegas’s Tomas Nosek connected for his 1st and Wong with his 2nd of the game.

Vegas would head into the 1st intermission with a 4-2 lead over the Vancouver Canucks.

In the 2nd, the Golden Knights went back to work and at the 5:25 mark it was forward Alex Tuch who gave Vegas a 3 goal cushion. His 1st of the preseason was a beautiful tip-in courtesy from a shot by blueliner Shea Theodore.

The host team Vancouver did not score in the middle frame as Vegas went into the 2nd intermission with a commanding 5-2 lead.

In the 3rd period, history struck again for Vegas as forward Wong recorded the 1st ever hat-trick in Golden Knights history to restore their 3 goal cushion over Vancouver to make it 6-3.

Not long after Wong’s hat-trick goal, Vegas poured on their attack against Vancouver as both Hyka and Nick Suzuki struck in a span of 38 seconds apart from each other to give the Golden Knights an 8-3 lead over the Canucks.

For Suzuki, it was his 1st goal of the preseason and Hyka connected with his second of the game.

Suzuki’s 1st In Preseason Action For Vegas

Boeser of Vancouver with 7:11 left in the 3rd, cut the Golden Knights lead in half and made it an 8-4 game. This was Boeser’s 3rd goal of preseason action for the Canucks.

With 3:05 left of the 3rd, Paul Thompson went upstairs on Thatcher Demko of Vancouver and gave Vegas a 9-4 lead.

For Vegas, this lead would hold as they defeated the Vancouver Canucks by a 9-4 final.

After the completion of the Golden Knights preseason game, fans that attended the watch party at “City National Arena” MacKenzie’s River Pizza loudly and proudly chanted “Let’s Go Knights”!!!

The Vegas Golden Knights etched their name in NHL history with a huge statement today.
