Las Vegas–Today the Vegas Golden Knights AHL affiliate Chicago Wolves made a player announcement that the organization has signed defenseman Dmitry Opisov to a standard player contract.

Fresh off of his training camp with the Golden Knights, the 20-year-old defenseman also participated in the team’s development camp that took place days after the 2017 NHL Entry Draft.

Opisov’s standard player contract is good thru the 2017-18 AHL campaign.

With Opisov joining the Wolves organization this season he start’s his training camp with the club that kicks off today at Triphahn Community Center & Ice Arena.

In the 1st of three preseason games with the Golden Knights, Opisov did not play in those. Vegas elected more season prospects and veterans for those matchups.

He was acquired by the Kelly McCrimmon’s Brandon Wheat Kings in the month of January of last season where he played with the 1st ever signed Golden Knights player Reid Duke.

Last season with Vancouver and Brandon, Opisov played in 73 games where he recorded 2 goals and 12 assists for 14 points. He also played in 4 WHL playoffs games where he was -4 in the 2016-17 campaign.
