Las Vegas–Tonight the Vegas Golden Knights continued their inaugural season with a stopover in Arizona as they took on the Coyotes at Gila River Arena for game 2 of the campaign.

In the 5:52 mark in the opening period of the contest it was Arizona Coyotes Tobias Rieder was gifted with the loose puck and put it 5 hole past Golden Knights goaltender Marc-André Fleury to “The Desert Dogs” the early 1 goal lead.

Late Game Heroics For The Vegas Golden Knights

For the Vegas Golden Knights, they had until the 3rd period again for the 2nd straight night. In the late stages of the regulation period, when defenseman Nate Schmidt found forward James Neal rebound and cashed in the tying goal with 1:12 left.

Schmidt recorded his 1st goal of the season with that game-tying marker and sent the contest into overtime.

It’s The “Real Deal”

In the overtime period, it was the “Real Deal” who clutch once more as Neal sealed for the Vegas Golden Knights to give their 2nd win of the season.

At the end of the night, Golden Knights goaltender Marc-André Fleury made 27 saves of 28 shots he faced which was a significant drop from his 45 save performance last night vs. Dallas.

Coyotes netminder Antti Raanta made 40 saves in their 2-1 loss vs. Vegas.

For Neal, he is officially on a two-game scoring streak that he’ll take with him when the Golden Knights face off again on Tuesday vs. the Arizona Coyotes.
