Las Vegas–Today at “City National Arena” we caught up with Vegas Golden Knights forwards James Neal and Tomas Nosek who just less than 48 hours removed from their emotional home opener from Tuesday to get their take on the historic knight that happened at T-Mobile Arena.
Neal highlighted the intensity of the building with the amount of electricity the fans provided the Golden Knights players that jump-started them because it felt more of the Stanley Cup Playoffs game.
“I think we every going on and it being the first game there, they were a bit louder than a regular season game and getting off to a hot start and big first goal and another one and another one the fans were in early.” Neal on the hot start from the Golden Knights.
After the offensive explosion by the Golden Knights, Neal did not shy away of how amazing the start was for the team with a smile on his face.
“It felt great, we couldn’t envision a better start, I think No’s scored a huge goal to get us going, we talked about having a good first shift and then roll them over from there thought that our guys did that so it was a good start for us.” Neal replied.

On Tuesday night at T-Mobile Arena in front of 18,191 screaming Vegas Golden Knights fans Czech forward Nosek scored the first ever franchises regular season home game goal in club history at the 2:19 mark of the opening period and he described how that sequence went down.
“Belle gave me a great pass, I went to the net, I saw the d-men coming so I decided to shoot and it went so it was a great moment for me and a great moment for the team.” Said Nosek on scoring the franchises first home opener goal.
Before the game started Vegas resident and Golden Knights defenseman Deryk Engelland provided a very powerful “Vegas Strong” keynote speech that was instrumental in how the players came flying of the gate with their offensive attack against the Arizona Coyotes.
“It was very emotional when Deryk spoke and the national anthem was emotional too, something that I will never forget.” Nosek on Engelland’s emotional speech.
