Las Vegas–Today the Vegas Golden Knights held their post-game practice session at “City National Arena” following their 3-1 victory over the Boston Bruins that put them back into the win column and a 4-1-0 record on the season.

It was a knight of 1st’s that happened for three members of the Golden Knights squad, forwards Alex Tuch and Vadim Shipachyov scored their 1st ever NHL career goals and backup goaltender Malcolm Subban recorded after 2 previous starts his 1st win of his career.

For Golden Knights forward Tuch it’s been a whirlwind kind of a week for him after spending the opening part of his 2017-18 season with the Chicago Wolves organization and playing in their 1st three games of their campaign.

In that span, he’s been skating on the Wolves topline with forwards Teemu Pulkkinen and Brandon Pirri.

While being with the Wolves Tuch has recorded 4 goals and 1 assist for 5 points and was a plus 2 in the process.

For today’s practice, he was skating on a line with Shipachyov and Leipsic.

Before his regular season debut for the Golden Knights, Shipachyov played in 4 preseason games for Vegas and registered 1 assist in the span and was minus 2 in the span.

Subban in two prior NHL starts with the Boston Bruins was 0-2-0. Getting this win yesterday was a huge lift off of his shoulders.

After today’s practice, we caught with forwards Shipachyov, Tuch, and backup netminder Subban for their post-win thoughts on what was a memorable game for these three Golden Knights players.

Tuch talked about the turnaround time being with the Chicago Wolves and Vegas Golden Knights in what has been a crazy week for the 21-year-old Syracuse, NY native.

“It’s been pretty hectic, it’s pretty crazy past few week, 2 weeks so going on to Chicago we have a good team down, really strong offensively, I was able to play with guys like Pirri and Pulkkinen, I’ve played with Pulkkinen in the past then Pirri has been in the NHL past few years so it’s to play with them and then come up here and play with Leipsic and Shipachyov is just as easy and so I thought we had good chemistry and stuff and makes playing hockey that easier.” Tuch on playing with Chicago and Vegas.

Tuch paid compliments to how well the depth has been between the Golden Knights and Wolves organization for the current hockey season.

“It’s unbelievable I mean I was shocked of what they’ve done and how good of players they gotten from the draft and stuff, I think George McPhee and his management have done an unbelievable job collecting and signing players.” Tuch on the depth of both Vegas and Chicago.

For Tuch, he was all smiles when he described to us his 1st NHL career with the Golden Knights.

“Just trying to make a good backcheck and strip the puck and then try to throw it back in the zone and got a lucky bounce and just use my speed past the defenseman got the puck probably closed my eyes as the shot went off, went short side high and caught him a little off guard, watched the video a few times so it’s still pretty surreal.” Tuch said with a chuckle.
