Summerlin- The much anticipated rematch from Friday night’s 2-1 thriller against Minot State brought Rebel fans back in full force to City National Arena.

Minot State came out with revenge in their eyes and scored first. Forward Williams put the Rebels on the board towards the end of the first period. The Rebels had a lot of 5 on 3 time as the refs kept calling penalties on Minot State. Goal by Forward Kaszupski tied up the game for the end of the period.

Forward Kaszupski kept the action going in the first 2 minutes of the second period by scoring a goal, putting the Rebels in the lead. Minot State was not backing down as the Rebels played hard on defense. Forward Williams tied up the game 4 all as the period came to an end.

It was anyone’s game in the third period as both teams continue to fight for a goal. Multiple shots on goal were made by both teams. As soon as Minot State took the lead, the Rebels started to fight harder to win but fell short. Final score was 5-4 Minot State.

Coach Anthony Greener was proud of the team and their ability to find a way to win two of the three games this weekend, as the team knew what they were up against. Greener is going to work with the boys to build on the positives as they prepare for two games in Utah next weekend.
