Las Vegas–Today the Vegas Golden Knights along with General Manager George McPhee made the announcement that they have locked up forward Jonathan Marchessault to a 6 year extension thru the 2023-24 season.

This season with the Golden Knights, Marchessault has been an important part of the team team’s top 6 forward group.

With the Golden Knights, Marchessault is the team leader in points with 37 points (15 goals and 22 assists). Last night his scored the empty net goal in the Golden Knights 3-0 shutout over the Nashville Predators.

For Marchessault, he’s become an instant fan favorite among the Golden Knights faithful.

Among his line, both William Karlsson and Reilly Smith has done some serious damage this season. Along with his 15 goals, Karlsson has netted 20 of his own, while Smith has recorded 10 goals during the current campaign. They also have a combined 34 assists for their efforts as well to go with his 22 helpers.

On 5 v 5, Marchessault has scored 12 goals and has produced three power player strikes. He’s produced 1 game winning goal that came in the overtime period vs their matchup against the San Jose Sharks.

His contract extension is rated at an AAV of $5 million per season over the 6-year term.

Marchessault is currently in the final year of his previous 2 year contract he signed when he was a member of the Florida Panthers. That deal was rated at $1,500,000 over the term and an AAV of $750k.
