Summerlin– Tonight the Skatin Rebels took the ice one last time in their regular season. Fans packed the stands as the Rebels went to battle against the University of Arizona Wildcats. The Rebels are 11-3 at home and 21-9 overall.

Both teams started out very strong with shots on goal. Viktor Brask put the Rebels on the board early on. The Rebels led in shots on goal at 11 to 2.

It was a very chippy second period, as both teams struggled to score. Cody Williams scored, keeping the Rebels in the lead.

In their last period of the regular season, the Rebels were not going down without a fight. They had the advantage for the better part of the period, as the refs gave Arizona multiple penalties. Zach Lawson scored the final goal for the Rebels’ regular season, which won the game 3 to 1.

Coach Anthony Greener is so happy with the outcome of the season. He said the team has accomplished everything they set out to do this season and now their only focus is winning the national tournament. The only things they need to work on is to be better on the power play and on defense. Greener is really amazed with the amount of support the program has gained over the past two years and it has really helped with how the team plays.

The Skatin Rebels head to Columbus, Ohio for the ACHA National Tournament on March 8.
