Las Vegas–Tomorrow night is the highly anticipated return to Nationwide Arena for former Columbus Blue Jackets forward William Karlsson.
Earlier in the season, Karlsson faced his former club for the very first time since being drafted by Golden Knights General Manager George McPhee in the Vegas Draft that took place last summer.
In that contest, Karlsson had a great night against his former club where he netted his 26th and 27th goal of the season that ultimately led to a 6-3 Vegas win over the Blue Jackets.
Last year in round 1 of the 2017 Stanley Cup Playoffs, Karlsson delivered a very good performance for his teammates, the city of Columbus, and most importantly his family.
In game 4 vs. the Penguins, Karlsson scored a goal and tallied an assists that gave the Blue Jackets some life in the NHL’s second season. His goal was a beautiful backhander on future teammate Marc-André Fleury.
Unfortunately for Columbus they were knocked out one game later.

Much like he did with the Golden Knights this season in netting his first ever NHL career hat-trick against the Leafs, Karlsson record the first multi-goal game in the 2015-16 campaign.
The opponent that fell victim to Karlsson’s first 2 goal affair was the Arizona Coyotes on November 14. Karlsson would score those goals on his 1st and 2nd shots of the contest. His then Blue Jackets defeated the “Desert Dogs” 5-2 in that game.

Back in the 2014-15 season, Karlsson spent time with the team that drafted in the Anaheim Ducks but over the course of that campaign he was traded to Columbus along with Rene Bourque and a 2nd rounder for the then 2015 NHL Draft on March 2. What the Blue Jackets sent west bound was blueliner James Wisniewski.
26 days after the trade on March 28, 2015 the Blue Jackets took on the St. Louis Blues. In that game, Karlsson netted his first goal in a Columbus uniform.
