Las Vegas–Tonight the Vegas Golden Knights wrapped up their 5 game road swing with a final stop along South Broad Street against the Flyers.

Vegas entered the contest vs. Philadelphia with a 3-1 record on the trip with their only loss at the hands of the Columbus Blue Jackets.

The game was special one for Golden Knights goaltender Marc-André Fleury as he came away with his 400th career win backstopping an NHL net.

For the Golden Knights the goal that started it off was by Erik Haula at 6:17 mark of the opening period. Haula took the pass from David Perron down low and went backdoor on Petr Mrazek for the early 1-0 Vegas lead.

The former Minnesota Wild forward converted for his 25th of the season on the power play for the Golden Knights.

In the early stages of the middle frame, the Flyers would respond with the equalizer marker that came from Claude Giroux. Giroux connected with a feed from Sean Couturier and sent to puck far side over the left shoulder on Fleury that knotted it up at 1-1.

6:00 into what would be determined later as the final period of the game, the Golden Knights took the lead once on another man advantage opportunity. Getting it done for Vegas was leading goal scorer William Karlsson.

Karlsson capitalized off of a rebound shot by defenseman Shea Theodore and with a wide open net pumped it home past Mrazek for his 36th of the campaign.

The Flyers however tied the contest back up just 66 seconds later as they were on the power play. Stepping up and answering the bell was the former Los Angeles Kings Wayne Simmonds.

Simmonds connected off of cross ice pass from Jakub Voracek and went top shelf on Fleury that made it a 2-2 game.

Later in the 3rd period it was the hero of the night for the Golden Knights in Ryan Carpenter as he grabbed the lead for good for Vegas. The scoring play started with Cody Eakin behind the Flyers net and with space fed it over to Carpenter who sent a snapper past Mrazek for the game winning goal of the contest.

Carpenter earned his 8th goal of the campaign in Vegas’s 3-2 victory over the Flyers.

The Golden Knights would complete the road trip with a 4-1 record and captured points 94 and 95 in the league standings at 45-19-5. This put them just three points behind the Nashville Predators in the Western Conference.

Fleury after the game captured his 400th career win and was the star of the night with his 38 save performance and posted a .950 save percentage. He would also earn his 28th victory against his former cross state rival.

After the game Fleury spoke with members of the media at Wells Fargo Center on the importance of the win.

“Most importantly, it was a big win for our team tonight.” Fleury told reporters during his post game remarks.

Vegas returns home to take on the New Jersey Devils this Wednesday at T-Mobile Arena.
