Las Vegas–After their last long road trip of the season, the Vegas Golden Knights returned to the ice for practice at “City National Arena”.

With the team finally back home after going 4-1-0 away from Las Vegas, Golden Knights forward Tomas Tatar took this trip as a means to complete the transition process and touched on what his experience was from his post Detroit era of his career.

“A little hard at the start, I just have to relax more, calm down, guys are really nice to me, started to feel really good here, when they bring other people in the locker room like that its easier for sure.” Tatar said.

For any player coming over to a new team via a trade or by the the waiver wire system the time to fully gel with new teammates has a way of taking it’s course and with Tatar he went thru exactly that during the road trip.

“We kind of shuffled around, I think last game we played pretty good you can see some chemistry there, we just have to keep it up.” Says Tatar.

In the final game of the road trip, Ryan Carpenter netted the winner in Marc-André Fleury‘s 400th NHL win vs. Philly and with that, has provided the team with steady depth scoring by notching his 8th of the season and for Tatar he took notice on what the former San Jose Sharks forward been for the team.

“Carpys playing really hard, he scored in the last game over there, he’s working hard and Flower was outstanding for us, he played well.” Tatar on Carpenter and Fleury.

Fleury in the last win on the road trip for the Golden Knights made 38 saves in a really good performance between the pipes for Vegas and posted a .950 save percentage.

Tatar spoke with us today about the challenges it was for him in getting fully adjusted to the Golden Knights playing style vs the one he was used to in Detroit.

“That’s the thing I’m trying to adjust as hard and fast as I can, it’s not going to be easy, like I said guys are making it a lot easier on me, were winning a game which is fun.” Tatar mentioned.

In his third game in as a member of the Golden Knights, Tatar scored his first goal wearing the Vegas V in the 3-2 win vs. New Jersey, the team they play again tonight at T-Mobile Arena.

“It’s nice to get the monkey off the back for sure, I saw the puck between the pads and tried to jam it in and I was fortune it to find it in the net.” Tatar said with laughter in his voice.

His first goal with Vegas would also be the 17th of the season for him.
