Las Vegas–Today the AHL affiliate of the Vegas Golden Knights announced that defenseman prospect Nic Hague will join the Chicago Wolves.
Hague was drafted by General Manager George McPhee in the 2nd round of the 2017 NHL Entry Draft at 34th overall from the OHL’s Mississauga Steelheads.
This season with the Steelheads, Hague had himself a career campaign in goals, assists, and in points. He scored 34 goals, 43 assists for 78 points 67 games played.
He is one of three Golden Knights prospects this season with at least 75 points or more, the other two players are Owen Sounds Nick Suzuki with 100 points (42 goals and 52 assists), and Portlands Cody Glass at 102 (37 goals and 65 assists).
Before the first ever season started in Golden Knights history, Hague signed a 3-year entry level contract with the franchise.
With three seasons for Hague with the Mississauga Steelheads where he skated in 198 games and produced 67 goals, 81 assists at 148 points.
Many hockey experts say that Hague is ready to take the jump to the NHL with the breakout season that he had down in juniors with Mississauga.
Hague becomes the first Golden Knights draft pick prospect to join the Chicago Wolves.
