Las Vegas–Today the NHL Department of Player Safety held it’s hearing session with San Jose Sharks forward Evander Kane for cross checking Vegas Golden Knights Pierre-Edouard Bellemare.

When the Golden Knights were leading the Sharks 5-0 in the third period, Kane was seen giving two whacks on Vegas forward Bellemare.

The first whack he made was on the upper body, but it was the second one where Kane went right at Bellemare’s face.

Kane received a 5 minute major and was automatically ejection from the opening game with 16:38 left in the contest.

The result from today’s hearing is that Kane received a one game suspension. He will not be available for game two which is tomorrow.
