Las Vegas–Today the Vegas Golden Knights have signed another player to the kingdom in Brooks Macek.

Macek’s 1-year deal with Vegas is worth $650,000 NHL, that is if he makes the roster for the 2018-19 season. His AHL base contract is rated at $175,000.

This past season, Macek has played with the Red Bull München hockey club of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga. There he suited up in 50 games and produced 26 goals, 18 assists for 44 points.

His 26 goals that he scored for Red Bull Munchen this past year made him the leading scorer of DEL.

In the playoffs with Red Bull München, Macek made significant contribution thru the 17 games that he played in, scoring 8 goals, adding 7 assists for 15 points. His offensive contributions, led Red Bull München to their franchises third DEL Championship.

He is a 2-time DEL Champion (2017 and 2018).

Another notable contribution that Macek has done was in his international hockey career as he played in the 2018 Winter Olympics for Team Germany. In a span of 7 games, he scored 2 goals, added 2 assists, and helped Germany capture the Silver Medal against the Olympics Olympic Athletes from Russia hockey club.

Macek brings with him to the Golden Knights organization, 255 games of experience in the DEL. In that span, he scored 94 goals, 89 assists for 183 points, putting him at 0.70 points per game player.

With the Macek signing, its best bet that hell be invited to the upcoming training Golden Knights camp so he will have the opportunity to make some early impressions with George McPhee and staff. The same opportunity in what Tomas Hyka did last year.

If Macek does not make the Golden Knights roster for the 2018-19 campaign he will have the chance to develop his game with the Chicago Wolves under the guidance of Rocky Thompson and staff at the American League level.

Macek was originally drafted by Ken Holland of Detroit Red Wings in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft in round #6 at 171st overall.

He hails originally from Winnipeg, MB, the same place where Cody Eakin and Cody Glass are from.
