Las Vegas–Today Vegas Golden Knights owner Bill Foley released a letter to the people of the town after their inaugural season recently wrapped up.
In his letter to people of Las Vegas, he wanted offer a chance of reflection of what on what a memorable season it was for the Golden Knights.
The Golden Knights memorable season in the National Hockey League was highlighted by a 51-24-7 record that brought their first ever Pacific Division Crown, the Western Conference Championship, and a trip to the Stanley Cup Finals.
This was by a franchise playing in a “Sunbelt” non-traditional hockey market in the NHL.
For the Golden Knights after year one in the NHL they have seriously fast tracked from their original plan that Foley has said for a long time.
“We kept saying our expectation was “playoffs in three, Stanley Cup in six.” Says Foley.
With five years left on his original promise and this recent run to the cup where they unfortunately fell in 5 games to high powered Washington Capitals, gives Vegas another opportunity in the future to fulfill that promise.
Playing in front of the fans at “The Fortress” has provided the Golden Knights with the energy they feed off each and every night.
“We are privileged to play in front of the best and most passionate fans in the league, in the best arena in the league. Talk to any of our players and they will tell you the same thing. Hopefully you are as proud representing the Golden Knights as the Golden Knights are representing you.” Foley said.
These passionate fans that Foley mentions have gone on the road when the team was away from T-Mobile Arena during preseason, regular season, to even the Stanley Cup Playoffs and Finals.
In addition those fans have also participated in various watch parties around town over the course of their inaugural season and have been involved in numerous community functions.
They have truly embraced what it means to be a hockey fan but most importantly, a “VegasBorn” Golden Knights fan.
