Las Vegas–Today the Vegas Golden Knights announced that they have extended goaltender Marc-André Fleury to a three year extension.
Fleury was super excited about the signing this morning that he took to social media on the Golden Knights Twitter account to announce the great news to #VegasBorn fans on this Friday the 13.
With the Golden Knights having the services of Fleury between the pipes a while longer, his three year extension comes with an AAV of $7 million per season and goes thru the 2021-22 season.
In his first season with the Golden Knights, Fleury earned 29 wins, recorded just 13 losses and had four shutouts to his name. With his bounce season that included him winning his 400th career victory in net, Fleury finished the 2017-18 campaign with his highest career GAA of 2.24 and save percentage of .927.
His steady play and poise backstopping the Golden Knights net led them to their first ever Stanley Cup Final berth in franchise history against the Washington Capitals where they unfortunately were defeated by them in a quick five game series.
He completed the 2018 Stanley Cup Playoffs with 13 wins and seven losses and finished with a .927 save percentage and 2.24 GAA. Fleury also recorded four shutouts in last seasons playoffs which was also his career best in the NHL’s second season.
The Golden Knights going forward are in good hands with Fleury between the pipes for four more seasons.
