Today Golden Knights General Manager George McPhee came on Canada’s Sportsnet Hockey Central show and talked about the current state of the franchise on the eve of NHL TradeDeadline day.
Today we saw more dealings as the flood gates continue to open up as the 2017 NHL Trade Deadline draws near. Clubs went looking for assets to help them push for the playoffs and others determined to build towards to the future.

As this years trade deadline approaches we take a look back at the 2016 NHL Trade Deadline. It was recorded as one of the slowest in recent years. Prior to that seasons deadline frenzy several deals were made over the weekend 14 in fact throughout the league. One deadline day there was only handful of transactions that went down.
Saturday the Golden Knights organization held is first ever “Hockey Is For Everyone” event at Las Vegas Ice Center as part of the “Try Hockey For A Day For Free”. The event saw hundreds of Vegas kids from ages 4-9 came out to give the great sport of hockey a try for the first time.

Ever since the name was unveiled back on November 22, 2016 Vegas retailers have rallied behind the organization by having merchandise available for the locals and even tourists.

Summerlin- This afternoon I took a trip to Downtown Summerlin and visited our friends at Sports Town USA to check out the buzz around the Golden Knights swag and merchandise. Sports Town USA is located next to DTS anchor tenant Dillards and is within walking distance to the hockey clubs practice facility.
Las Vegas- Earlier this morning I took a trip inside Vegas’s Fashion Show Mall and paid our friends at USA Hockey Store a visit and checked out the Golden Knights merchandise that was proudly on display.
Summerlin- Today I visited the Golden Knights practice facility site that is still under construction in Downtown Summerlin.
This is where the team will be spending their training camp program to get themselves prepared before they hit the ice for their inaugural season.
Las Vegas- Today the Golden Knights organization held its first ever open house for their fans to get themselves familiarized with T-Mobile Arena and to have the opportunity to really take in this special day of what it means to be a member of the National Hockey League community and the fandom.
